We are foobar Agency.

foobar Agency GmbH is a digital agency for anyone who wants more than just attractive interfaces: we develop digital products and platforms that deliver measurable results – strategically thought out, cleanly designed, and robustly implemented.

To achieve this, we work in an interdisciplinary, pragmatic, and data-driven manner—close to the customer, close to the team, and with a clear focus on results. From the initial idea to go-live and cutover to continuous further development thereafter.

What you can expect to work on

Your Tasks

QA Strategy & Quality in Projects

  • You develop and establish QA strategies and test concepts for digital products — pragmatic and tailored to each project context.
  • You work closely with product, development, and UX to define quality goals, acceptance criteria, and test scope.
  • You bring quality thinking into refinements and concept phases early on, strengthening a shift-left mindset.

Test Planning, Test Cycles & Release Readiness

  • You plan, coordinate, and execute test cycles (e.g. regression, UAT, smoke tests) — both manual and automated.
  • You ensure test and release readiness across relevant environments (DEV/QA/STAGE/PROD), including test data setup.
  • You support acceptance processes, coordinate go-live checks, and enable stable handovers into operations and further development.

Test Automation & Tooling

  • You build and further develop test automation (e.g. using Cypress, Playwright) and integrate it pragmatically into existing delivery workflows.
  • You maintain test cases, cover end-to-end scenarios across web and API layers, and ensure long-term maintainability.
  • You work with common tools such as JIRA, Xray, Qase, or similar to manage tests, bugs, and traceability.

Transparency, Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • You make quality visible through risk assessments, status updates, KPIs, and clear recommendations.
  • You communicate early when quality, stability, or scope are at risk and help teams and stakeholders make informed decisions.
  • You represent quality aspects within the team and towards stakeholders — ensuring clarity instead of last-minute surprises.
What we expect you to bring in

Your Profile

Must-haves

  • You have several years of experience in quality assurance or test management—ideally in a digital environment or in software projects.
  • You have already established and implemented QA strategies and test concepts in projects.
  • You have practical experience with test automation (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, or comparable tools).
  • You are confident in using test and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Xray, Qase, or similar).
  • You have a good understanding of agile working methods and cross-functional collaboration.
  • You work in a structured, conscientious, and solution-oriented manner – even with complex, not fully defined requirements.
  • You can assess and prioritize risks and derive pragmatic, quality-oriented measures from them.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently in German and English (at least B2).

Nice-to-haves

  • You have experience with internationalization/localization testing (multilingual products).
  • You are familiar with common accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and ideally have some practical experience in this area.
  • You have knowledge of testing complex business logic (e.g., commerce, checkout, promotions, country rules, etc.).
  • You already have experience in performance and end-to-end testing.

What you can expect in this role

  • High Level of Autonomy
You shape your approach to quality testing together with one colleague and take ownership of QA decisions instead of being micromanaged.
  • Mature, Flexible Processes
There are clear structures, established tools, and shared standards — with room to question them and improve things pragmatically.
  • Constructive Disagreement Instead of Conflict Avoidance
Different perspectives are part of the job. You should be comfortable engaging in discussions and using them to reach sound, well-supported decisions.
  • Ambiguity as Part of Everyday Work
Not everything is clearly defined from the start. Requirements evolve, priorities shift — clarity often emerges through dialogue, not upfront documentation.
